At Waimea College, we’re committed to ensuring a smooth and positive transition to secondary school.
Our Year 8 Orientation Programme is designed to:
- Begin the journey into college life with confidence and clarity
- Conduct pre-testing to help us place students in core classes from Day One in 2026
- Provide opportunities to meet key staff including Senior Leadership, Deans, and current students
- Ease anxieties and build excitement by familiarising students with their new environment
Orientation day will start at 8.45 am, please meet on the courts behind the gym. If your school has a uniform, please wear it. Bring your lunch, snack food, drink bottle and pen (black or blue). The school Kiosk will be open at breaks. Cellphones are not required. The day will finish at approximately 2.00 pm.
