Attendance Advisor x 2

Fixed Term (Term Time Only)

We are seeking motivated and organised individuals for two Attendance Advisor vacancies.   Attendance Advisors play a vital role supporting students who are not attending or enrolled in school to reconnect with education and thrive, working with schools and whānau to create tailored “back to school” plans with the right resources for success.

  • Attendance Advisor Lead: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday). This position will include leadership responsibilities for a small team of Advisors which will require some term break duties.
  • Attendance Advisor: 27.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday).

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience working with young people and/or within their community.
  • Can build strong, respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Are confident working independently, including conducting home visits.
  • Are digitally competent and well organised.
  • Bring energy, professionalism, and a strong work ethic to their mahi.
  • Meet the requirements of the Children’s Act 2014 (police vetting required).
  • Hold a full, clean, and current NZ Driver Licence.
  • A qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or relevant experience working with young people, whānau or communities would be advantageous.

Both  roles are fixed term for the period 20 January 2026 until 17 December 2027 (during term time only)  and will be based at Waimea College. Come join us to make a real difference—support students, strengthen communities, and help shape brighter futures.

Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) Coordinator

Permanent – Part Time (20 hours per week – term time only)

We’re looking for a compassionate and highly organised Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) Coordinator to join our Learning Support Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring equitable access to assessments for students with learning, physical, sensory, or emotional needs. The SAC Coordinator will manage applications, liaise with staff, students and families, and ensure compliance with NZQA guidelines. 

In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with students, staff, and families to ensure assessment condition needs are identified and met with empathy and professionalism. Your ability to connect with young people and understand a wide range of learning differences will be key to helping our students thrive.

Transition Administrator

Permanent – 20 Hours per week (Term Time Only)

Waimea College is seeking a motivated and organised Transition Administrator to join our Careers and Transition Team from 26 January 2026. This role plays a key part in supporting students as they prepare for life beyond school, by coordinating work placements, maintaining strong relationships with employers, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth opration of the department.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Work Placements: Liaise with employers, staff, students and parents to organise and manage student work placements, ensuring compliance with Ministry requirements.
  • Administration: Provide high-quality administrative support, including document management, budgeting assistance, event coordination, and maintaining digital systems.
  • Student Support: Assist students individually and in groups to help them achieve successful transitions into employment or further education.
  • Communication: Maintain positive communication with all stakeholders, prepare content for newsletters, and support careers-related events such as expos.

About You

You’ll be an enthusiastic and approachable team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. Confidence with digital tools, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to relationshp building will ensure your success in this role.
