Finance Assistant – full-time, permanent position

Are you looking for a varied role in a dedicated and small team environment where you can showcase your skills?  Waimea College seeks a motivated, enthusiastic person with a sense of humour to join our busy team. You will have experience in payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, account preparation and a variety of accounting-based tasks.  You will be an excellent problem-solver, with a proactive approach and an eye for detail.  You will demonstrate the ability to communicate with teenagers and adults alike.  Our team is small, and we rely on everyone being exceptional at what they do and going the extra mile.  So, if you are someone that thrives on challenges, can use your initiative daily and have an excellent attitude this role maybe for you.  You will also have:

  • Well-rounded accounting experience
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Flexibility and ability to meet changing needs
  • An accounting or similar qualification would be advantageous although not essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and have used one or more accounting packages

Library Manager – Permanent (40 weeks per year term time only)

Waimea College is looking for an experienced, positive, highly organised and motivated person to lead our Library & Information Resource Centre.  This position is permanent during term time only (approximately 40 weeks per year).

Key attributes for the Library Manager include:-

  • Experience in leading and managing staff.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent understanding of modern Library environment and services.
  • Excellent ICT/Office and Library programme skills.
  • A proven understanding of information literacy.
  • Knowledge of up to date emerging technologies and research tools.
  • Oversight and knowledge of budgetary requirements.
