Speaking Spanish One:    Thursday  6.45 pm – 7.45 (8 weeks) 

An introductory conversational Spanish course.  Learn some basic phrases for travel or for striking up conversations.

NZ Sign Language Level 1A:   Monday  6.30 pm – 8.30 pm (8 weeks) 

Learn basic NZSL conversation skills and begin to understand and develop NZSL grammar.  Develop the use of facial expressions and improve visual and spatial awareness. Open for adults and college students with approval.  Most people are eligible for a 50% subsidy.

Te Reo Maori – A Beginning:    Wednesday 6.30 – 8.30 pm (7 weeks)                   

Take steps toward learning and understanding Maori language and culture in an encouraging environment.  Includes basic Māori for everyday use; greetings (mihi), phrases (rerenga kupu), customs (tikanga).  Open for adults and college students with approval.  Most people are eligible for a 50% subsidy. 

Tutor: Ani Davey    5 Aug – 16 Sept                                                                                                                   Fee $120 

 

Te Reo Maori – Advanced Beginners: Tuesday 6.30 – 8.30 pm (7 weeks)                              

This is a carry on programme from the above course, with emphasis on slowly achieving the ability to communicate in easy sentence structure.  Learn seasons, months, time-telling and time to relax with string and stick games.  More understanding of Hui and Powhiri.  Open for adults and college students with approval.  Most people are eligible for a 50% subsidy.
