Speaking Spanish One:    Thursday  6.45 pm – 7.45 (8 weeks)

An introductory conversational Spanish course.  Learn some basic phrases for travel or for striking up conversations.

Speaking Spanish Two:    Thursday  8.00 pm – 9.00 pm (8 weeks)

A follow on course to Spanish One and introduction to more conversational Spanish.

Italian for Beginners:      Tuesday  7.00 pm – 8.00 pm  (8 weeks)

An introduction to basic Italian for travel. Learn vocabulary and useful phrases to help you survive in common situations, e.g.: dealing with accommodation and transport, eating out, shopping, small talk, health and emergencies. Gain confidence through practice with other students in a friendly and supportive classroom environment.

Te Reo Maori – A Beginning:   Tuesday OR Wednesday 6.30 – 8.30 pm (7 weeks)                  ONLINE COURSE

Take steps toward learning and understanding Maori language and culture in an encouraging environment.  Includes basic Māori for everyday use; greetings (mihi), phrases (rerenga kupu), customs (tikanga).  Open for adults and college students with approval.  Most people are eligible for a 50% subsidy.

Te Reo Maori – Advanced Beginners:  Monday 6.30 – 8.30 pm (7 weeks)                             ONLINE COURSE

This is a carry on programme from the above course, with emphasis on slowly achieving the ability to communicate in easy sentence structure.  Learn seasons, months, time-telling and time to relax with string and stick games.  More understanding of Hui and Powhiri.  Open for adults and college students with approval.  Most people are eligible for a 50% subsidy.

NZ Sign Language Level 1A:  Wednesday  6.30 pm – 8.30 pm (8 weeks)

Learn basic NZSL conversation skills and begin to understand and develop NZSL grammar.  Develop the use of facial expressions and improve visual and spatial awareness. Open for adults and college students with approval.  Most people are eligible for a 50% subsidy.

NZ Sign Language Level 1B:  Monday  6.30 pm – 8.30 pm (8 weeks)

Learn more NZSL conversation skills and develop your grammar skills.  This course is designed for those who have successfully completed level 1A.  Open for adults and college students.  You may be eligible for a 50% subsidy.
