Waimea College is located in Richmond. A town with a population of around 10,000 people, Richmond is situated 12 kilometres southwest of Nelson. The town is the hub for the fruit-growing, wine-making and forestry industries on the surrounding Waimea Plains. Richmond is in the Nelson/Tasman region at the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island. Our region is a vibrant and sought-after location with the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand - a glorious 2,500 a year. The Nelson/Tasman region is home to some of the most stunning natural beauty in the world, and because of its awesome outdoor opportunities, gourmet food, world-class wines and sophisticated arts, many people choose to live in the region due to its fantastic lifestyle.
