Diana Murdoch - Director of International students
It is my pleasure to be responsible for the international student programme and the promotion of Waimea College to international students. I have worked with international students for 17 years and I love getting to know you all. I am also a mother so I can understand what a big decision it is for you and your family to come to New Zealand and Waimea College. I am constantly surprised and impressed by your courage and commitment to join us in our school and live with one of our homestay families. This will be an experience which will change you and I am privileged to be part of it with you.
Annitta Hodgkinson - Homestay Co-ordinator
I am here to support you in your homestay and in the community.I want you to have the best possible experience which you will remember forever. You can talk with me about anything and I will respect your culture and your privacy. So please see me with any questions you have about your homestay, holiday plans, the New Zealand culture and lifestyle or any problems you are experiencing. I am at school Monday-Wednesday and Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Carol Morgan - International Tutor and Teacher in Charge of ESOL
I am your International Tutor and I teach English as a second language. When you arrive I will help you select subjects for your timetables and help with any problems you may be having in the classroom and school. I am here full time and can be found in the International classroom most days before and after school and at break times.
International Teacher Assistants
Trish McGee
I teach some ESOL classes and assist Year 11 & 12 students in their main stream English classes. I understand and will help you achieve the tasks you need to do. If I am available I will help you in study times. So when you need me come and ask.
Caroline Everts
I help students in mainstream classes, in particular English, Maths and Science. So if you have any trouble understanding the teacher or the subject work, then I am happy to help you in class or one to one.
"We are very lucky to have such skilled and passionate Teacher Assistants."
Anita Thompson - International Administrator
If you are not sure of something I am the one to see. I am the person you will see in the International office every day. Please come in and say Hi or smile and wave as you go past. My role is to ensure the smooth running of the department where everyone in our International family is kept informed and supported. I also assist with documents required for your visa applications, insurance claims, send out school reports and answer any questions you may have. So I will get to know you very well during your time here with us. |
