The Waimea College Performing Arts Department offers a huge range of opportunities to students across all year groups. The Department is a hive of activity at every break time, before and after school.
Waimea College is renowned for its award-winning Shakespeare performances with an average of 70 students participating annually in the regional festival. Our Shakespeare groups often go on to achieve at national level.
The Waimea College Junior and Senior Theatre Sports teams meet twice-weekly and compete in regional competitions too.
The college enters Stage Challenge every second year. These student-choreographed and student-directed dance performances involve up to 100 students.
Waimea College also offers students regular opportunities to see professional perfomances of theatre or dance works, both at the school and in the Nelson/Tasman community. |
