Top in Netball


The top South Island netball team comes from the top of the south - well done to the Senior A netball team who won the South Island secondary school netball tournament. This has added more accolades to the team who continue to perform above expectations mixing youth, talent and passion to combine and produce stunning results. Good luck for the Nationals!

 

 
Jazz it up!

The Jazz Band have just returned from a trip to Wellington where they performed, participated in workshops and broadened their musical horizons in the world of Jazz. They rubbed shoulders with international musicians as well as their peers to all come back inspired.

Volleyball Success

Waimea had a strong hand in the success of the girls New Zealand under 17 volleyball team that recently beat Australia for the first time in 15 years. Waimea College students Hannah Davenhill, Brittani Harrington, Gracie Roberts and Annie Eden were all part of the team that won the test series 2-1 to claim the Jenny Kirk Trophy. Well done to Annie Eden who was also named one of the team MVPs for her efforts.

 
Press cup bowl final

Waimea College 1st XV 2012
Congratuations to the 1st XV who finished the season on a hot streak winning their last eight games. The final win over Shirley Boys meant they won the Press Cup secondary schools Bowl Final, a fitting send off for retiring coach Tony Cadigan.  Well done to Tony and the team on an excellent season where they played entertaining rugby.
 
Kelsey makes Junior Black Sticks

Well done to Kelsey Smith who has cracked the Junior Black Sticks squad with a goal to make the final squad who has their eye on next year's Junior World cup. Good luck to Kelsey! Read more here.
